Sometimes you can learn a lot from just watching what others are doing. After all, success leaves clues, right?
For instance, when somebody is selling a product about split-testing, you can bet your bottom dollar they are applying these strategies to their web site. For instance, if you hop along to the web site shown in the P.S., you’ll notice a few things.
Such as the video at the top which gives a personal communication to the copy… the little circles which are used instead of bullets all the way down the page… the images of the products even though it is delivered digitally… the “add to your cart” link at the end rather than a “buy now” link… the credit card links at the bottom of the page… and the dotted lines around the order page.
There’s a lot you can learn from watching what others are doing. So keep your eyes peeled whenever you see good selling. Look out for good direct mail.
Watch out for good salespeople in the shops. And look at why you buy what you do.
