How to publish a book?

I have an idea to write books geared toward teenage girls in middle school/ highschool. I was thinking about calling it the Diva’s How to Guide and making mini books for things like The Diva’s Guide in Suriving high school, The Diva’s guide in Relationships, The Diva in Training’s Guide to Style etc. They would be short books with simple illustrations and texts. My question is how do i go about getting my books published. I am only 17 but I figured why wait when I can get started on a career now. I think I would like to go through the publishing company Author House but I’m not sure what the expenses to this will be. Please give me anything that will help me to make these books a success! THANK YOU<3

First, you should look at your market. Will high-school girls want to carry around a book called “The Diva…” this and that? Personally, I wouldn’t carry around that book, and I’m in 8th grade. That may be because of my weird emo grungy personality, but I don’t know if other girls would carry it around. Maybe. I don’t know. Just something for you to think about, I’m not trying to be, you know.

But here’s the process. http://www.rightreading.com/publishing/howto.publish/01-read.htm

And here’s a website for writing queries. http://www.talewins.com/knockoutquery.htm
It was really helpful when my friends and I were publishing our novel we wrote together.

You can get started young on publishing. I have, and I’m not even in high school yet. Just as so long as you have the talent for it and you have a lot of creativity, you can do it. Sorry if I sounded mean, I’m just trying to get you to think about your target audience’s wishes.
