Why does my Nokia 1600 not work with Singular SIM card? The phone worked with any SIM that I used overseas.?
I purchased a Nokia 1600 Mobile phone at Vodofone in Cairo Egypt. Subsequently while in various other countries I used not only Vodofone but other SIM’s. Now am back in the States for the holidays and just purchased a Singular SIM. It is not recognized by my phone. The vendor attempted to change the phone’s band with no success. What to do? EFW
The Nokia 1600 is a dual-band phone.
There are 2 versions.
The Americas version uses GSM 850 and GSM 1900
The European/Asia version uses GSM 900 and GSM 1800
There is no way to change one version to the other.
If you are looking for an international phone, make sure it is quad-band (all of the 4 bands mentioned above).
