1.  Find a niche in which people are buying but not too competitive.  In other articles we have discussed finding a niche in which people are searching using google keywords.  How do you know if they are buying?  Put your phrase into google and then look at the adwords ads that are at the top or at the right of the page.  Are there at least eight to ten ads?  If so, they are probably buying.

Now look at the websites listed on the first page.  How many of them are actually selling something as opposed to having information on the topic?  Does any of them sell the product that you are trying to sell?

How many websites total came back in the search?  If you are less than 500,000 in websites with a broad or no quotes search, you can probably gain some traction in this area.  Put in your search terms with quotes to get your true competitors.  If the result is 30,000 or less, you can get articles like this one to show up on the first page of google in a week or two.

2.  Find a product that fits the niche.  Rather than finding a product and creating a market, sell the food they want to a starving crowd.  Even though you may want to sell a particular product, it is better to find a product that fits what people are searching for and buying.

Searching clickbank, commission junction and other affiliate sites can show you products that fit your keywords.  If you have the time and talent, you can create a product that is tailored for what the people want.  This process saves money and time by allowing you to do your market research first.

3.  Drive traffic to your site to sell the product.  There are a number of ways of driving traffic that are free and don’t involved paying for advertising.  USFreeads.com is a highly visited website that has free classified ads.

Writing articles and posting them on sites like ezinearticles.com will get the articles ranked in google.  The readership and visibility of those sites will help you get ranked fairly quickly.

Doing short videos and posting them on Youtube and other video sites is another good way to get ranked.  The key with all of these tools is to select keywords that have search traffic but have 50,000 and less competing websites.  Don’t stop with one article or one video or one ad.  Do one a day to get good position in the search engines and to get good traffic to your site.
