Vista driver for an older Creative sound card?

I have a Creative sound card that s a few years old. When I installed it on my new PC that operates with Vista, I could not install the driver. When I checked on Creative website, they have no mention on a vista patch for this card. I took it to a Tech person who told me that Vista already comes with built-in drivers for most older cards. But the sound coming up is trash and I know it is supposed to be good. it is a Dolby Digital 5.1 card. Any advice??

You could try an automatic driver update utility. Go to http://www.pcdriverupdate.com and get the free scan. It will identify your devices and locate all the drivers for your system. That is what I use and it has saved me a lot of time. It’s worth a shot but it is possible that the card is not vista compatible.
