Have you found working for yourself to be more rewarding?

Me and my wife are thinking of setting up a business together because we are frankly sick of working for others and not getting anywhere in our careers. I believe that together we can be more successful. So basically, I want to know if any of you have found more success by working for yourselves than an employer, and also what tips would you offer to couples setting up a business on their own.

From your question I can see your determination which is very good to start with, but I can tell you that when you have your own business does not mean that you will work less hours, or when ever you feel like, lots of people think that having your own business is like waking in the park! it is the other way round, you need to work harder to get your business on the road and be a successful business, more like it you will work more hours, make an extra effort to keep the business running, but like I said I think you will be ok, wish you the best of luck, I have myself a security company since 1996 and it is running ok but I work very hard, take on more responsibilities than any other job I had.
